On Saturday, 12.10.2013, a Conference on "Soil Pollution with Heavy
Metals and Metalloids" was conducted in Cervignano, Italy and
organized by the Bilateral project, "Agri-knows". It was targeted
towards teachers, students and the interested public. Dr. Marco
Contin first presented an outline of the project "Agri-Knows". This
was followed by short presentations from various experts who are faced
with the problem of metals in the soil. Dr. Lutman (ARPA) presented
case studies of pollution at the local level, Dr. Giandon (ARPA) and
Dr. Plazzota touched on the determination of heavy metals in the soil,
prof. Lestan from the University of Ljubljana presented a strategy for
remediation of soils contaminated with heavy metals. Discussion and
conclusions were conducted under the guidance of Prof. Marie De
Nobili.
